(54) بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنِ الْمُحَادَثَةِ عَلَى الْغَائِطِ
Chapter 54: Prohibition of talking while defecating
Hadith 71
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ هِلالِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لا يَخْرُجِ الرَّجُلانِ يَضْرِبَانِ الْغَائِطَ كَاشِفَيْنِ عَنْ عَوْرَتِهِمَا يَتَحَدَّثَانِ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَمْقُتُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ " . حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ يَعْنِي الْوَرَّاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ هِلالٍ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : هَذَا الشَّيْخُ هُوَ عِيَاضُ بْنُ هِلالٍ ، رَوَى عَنْهُ يَحْيَى ابْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ غَيْرَ حَدِيثٍ ، وَأَحْسَبُ الْوَهْمَ مِنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ حِينَ قَالَ : عَنْ هِلالِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Two persons should not go out to relieve themselves in such a state that their private parts are exposed and they are talking to each other. Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is greatly displeased with this." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates another chain from Muhammad bin Yahya, in which the teacher of Yahya bin Abi Kathir is 'Iyad bin Hilal (whereas in the above-mentioned chain of narration, it is Hilal bin 'Iyad). The Imam says that the correct thing is that the teacher's name is 'Iyad bin Hilal. Yahya bin Abi Kathir has narrated several traditions from him. In my opinion, this confusion occurred because of 'Ikrimah bin 'Ammar, who, while narrating, said « عن ھلال بن عیاض ». (That is, he mentioned the son in place of the father.)"
