جماع أبواب الأفعال اللواتي لا توجب الوضوءChapters on Acts Not Requiring Wudu
(31) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ تَرْكَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوُضُوءَ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ أَوْ غَيَّرَتْ نَاسِخٌ لِوُضُوئِهِ كَانَ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ أَوْ غَيَّرَتْ.
Chapter mentioning the evidence that the Prophet's leaving ablution after eating cooked food abrogated his earlier practice
Hadith 42
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُ ، " رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ ثَوْرِ أَقِطٍ ، ثُمَّ رَآهُ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that he saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performing ablution after eating pieces of cheese. Then he saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, eat the shoulder of a goat and then pray without performing ablution.
Hadith 43
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ سَهْلٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " آخِرُ الأَمْرَيْنِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَرْكُ الْوُضُوءِ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says that the last of the two actions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was not to perform ablution after eating something cooked on fire.
