بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ الْأَمْرَ بِغَسْلِ الْفَرْجِ وَنَضْحِهِ مِنَ الْمَذْيِ أَمْرُ نَدْبٍ وَإِرْشَادٍ لَا أَمْرُ فَرِيضَةٍ وَإِيجَابٍ.
Chapter mentioning the evidence that washing and sprinkling the private part due to madhy is recommended, not obligatory
Hadith 23
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ غَالِبٍ أَبُو يَحْيَى الْعَطَّارُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ رَجُلا مَذَّاءً فَسُئِلَ لِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : " يَكْفِيكَ مِنْهُ الْوُضُوءُ " . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : وَفِي خَبَرِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، الَّذِي فِي الْمَذْيِ ، قَالَ : " يَكْفِيكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوُضُوءُ " ، قَدْ خَرَّجْتُهُ فِي بَابِ نَضْحِ الثَّوْبِ مِنَ الْمَذْيِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says that Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I was a person who had a lot of madhiy (pre-seminal fluid)." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about this on my behalf, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Performing wudu (ablution) is sufficient for you due to madhiy (coming out)." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the complete wording of the narration of Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif regarding madhiy from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is as follows « يكفيك من ذالك الوضوء »: "Performing wudu due to madhiy coming out will be sufficient for you." I have mentioned this under the chapter of washing clothes when madhiy touches them.
