بَابُ ذِكْرِ فَضَائِلِ الْوُضُوءِ يَكُونُ بَعْدَهُ صَلَاةٌ مَكْتُوبَةٌ
Chapter mentioning the virtues of ablution followed by an obligatory prayer
Hadith 2
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبَانَ ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ دَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ عَلَى الْبَلاطِ ، فَقَالَ : أُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِحَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ وَصَلَّى ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الصَّلاةِ الأُخْرَى " . هَذَا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ
It is narrated from Humran bin Aban, may Allah have mercy on him, that he said: I saw Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, that he called for water for ablution and performed ablution on a stone-paved ground. Then he said: I will tell you a hadith which I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Whoever performs ablution in the best manner and offers prayer, the sins committed between that prayer and the next prayer are forgiven."
