وَفِيهِ دَلِيلٌ عَلَى أَنَّ قَوْلَهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْمَاءُ لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ "- لَفْظٌ عَامٌّ مُرَادُهُ خَاصٌّ عَلَى مَا بَيَّنْتُ قَبْلُ- أَرَادَ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي يَكُونُ قُلَّتَيْنِ فَصَاعِدًا
This is also evidence that the words of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), "Nothing makes water impure," are general in wording but specific in meaning. As I have stated earlier, what he meant was the water that is two pitchers or more.
