(142) بَابُ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ الْإِمَامَ إِذَا جَهِلَ فَلَمْ يَقُلْ آمِينَ أَوْ نَسِيَهُ كَانَ عَلَى الْمَأْمُومِ-Chapter 142: Evidence that if the imam forgets to say "Ameen", the follower should still say it
Hadith Q575
إِذَا سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ عِنْدَ خَتْمِهِ قِرَاءَةَ فَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ- أَنْ يَقُولَ: آمِينَ. إِذِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَمَرَ الْمَأْمُومَ أَنْ يَقُولَ: آمِينَ، إِذَا قَالَ إِمَامُهُ: وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ، كَمَا أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ آمِينَ إِذَا قَالَهُ إِمَامُهُ.
It is necessary for the follower that when he hears the Imam reciting (wa la ad-dallin) at the end of Surah Al-Fatihah, he should say Ameen—because the Noble Prophet ﷺ has commanded the follower to say Ameen when his Imam recites (wa la ad-dallin), just as the Prophet ﷺ has commanded the follower to say Ameen when the Imam says Ameen.
