إِنْ صَحَّ الْخَبَرُ؛ فَإِنَّ هَذِهِ اللَّفْظَةَ لَسْتُ أَحْفَظُهَا إِلَّا عَنْ حَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ، وَلَسْتُ أَفْهَمُ أَسَمِعَ الْحَجَّاجُ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ مِنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ أَمْ لَا، فَأَشُكُّ فِي صِحَّةِ هَذَا الْخَبَرِ لِهَذِهِ الْعِلَّةِ
Provided that the hadith is authentic, because I have preserved these words only from Hajjaj bin Arta’ah. And I do not know whether Hajjaj heard this hadith from ‘Awn bin Abi Juhaifah or not. Therefore, I doubt the authenticity of this hadith due to this reason.
