Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah
جماع أبواب ذكر أفعال اختلف الناس فى إباحته للمحرم، نصت سنة النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم أو دلت على إباحتهاChapters on Acts Permitted for the Pilgrim by Sunnah
(406) بَابُ الْحَجِّ عَمَّنْ يَجِبُ عَلَيْهِ الْحَجُّ بِالْإِسْلَامِ، أَوْ مِلْكِ الْمَالِ، أَوْ هُمَا وَهُوَ غَيْرُ مُسْتَطِيعٍ لِلْحَجِّ بِبَدَنِهِ مِنَ الْكِبَرِ،Hajj on behalf of one who is obligated due to Islam or wealth but unable to perform it due to old age.
Hadith Q3036
وَالْفَرْقُ بَيْنَ الْعَاجِزِ عَنِ الْحَجِّ بِبَدَنِهِ لِكِبَرِ السِّنِّ، وَبَيْنَ الْعَاجِزِ عَنِ الْحَجِّ لِمَرَضٍ قَدْ يُرْجَى لَهُ الْبُرْءُ إِذِ الْعَاجِزُ لِكِبَرِ السِّنِّ لَا يَحْدُثُ لَهُ شَبَابٌ وَقُوَّةٌ بَعْدُ، وَالْمَرِيضُ قَدْ يَصِحُّ مِنْ مَرَضِهِ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ.
There is a difference between a person who is unable to perform Hajj due to old age and a person who is unable due to illness, because a person who is unable due to old age cannot regain youth and strength, whereas a sick person can recover by the command and mercy of Allah Almighty.
