Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Indeed, the stoning of the Jamarat and the circumambulation of the Sacred House (the Ka'bah), all of these have been prescribed for the remembrance of Allah Almighty, and for no other purpose." The narration of Janab Bundar ends with these words. In the narration of other narrators, there is this addition: that the purpose of performing Sa'i between Safa and Marwah is also the remembrance of Allah Almighty.
Indeed, the circumambulation of the House was only instituted for the establishment of the remembrance of Allah, not for the conversation of people and preoccupation with that which brings no benefit to the circumambulator in the Hereafter. And even though speaking good words during circumambulation is permissible and allowed, if that speech is not the remembrance of Allah.
