جماع أبواب الفريضة فى السفرChapters on Prayers while Traveling
(387) بَابُ الْجَمْعِ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي وَقْتِ الْعَصْرِ، وَبَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي وَقْتِ الْعِشَاءِ387 Chapter: Combining Dhuhr and Asr at the Time of Asr, and Maghrib and Isha at the Time of Isha.
Hadith 969
نَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّدَفِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكِ ، مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ يَعْنِي ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا عَجَّلَ بِهِ السَّيْرُ يَوْمًا جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ ، وَإِذَا أَرَادَ السَّفَرَ لَيْلَةً جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ ، يُؤَخِّرُ الظُّهْرَ إِلَى أَوَّلِ وَقْتِ الْعَصْرِ ، فَيَجْمَعُ بَيْنَهُمَا وَيُؤَخِّرُ الْمَغْرِبَ ، حَتَّى يَجْمَعَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ الْعِشَاءِ حِينَ يَغِيبُ الشَّفَقُ "
Ibn Shihab narrates from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) similar to the hadith of Ali bin Husayn, that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) intended to travel early in the day, he would combine the Zuhr and Asr prayers, and when he intended to travel at night, he would combine and perform the Maghrib and Isha prayers. He (peace be upon him) would delay the Zuhr prayer until the beginning time of Asr, then combine both, and he would delay the Maghrib prayer and, when the twilight disappeared, combine and perform Maghrib and Isha together.
