(375) بَابُ التَّغْلِيظِ فِي النَّوْمِ عِنْدَ الصَّلَاةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ375 Chapter: Severe Warning about Sleeping through Obligatory Prayer.
Hadith 942
نَا بُنْدَارٌ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدَ الْمَجِيدِ ، وَمُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَمُرَةُ بْنُ جُنْدُبٍ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ نَحْوَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، وَقَرَأَهُ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ كِتَابِنَا ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ لأَصْحَابِهِ : " هَلْ رَأَى أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ رُؤْيَا فَيَقُصُّ عَلَيْهِ مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَقُصَّ " ، وَإِنَّهُ قَالَ لَنَا ذَاتَ غَدَاةٍ : " إِنَّهُ أَتَانِي اللَّيْلَةَ آتِيَانِ ، وَإِنَّهُمَا ابْتَعَثَانِي ، فَقَالا لِي : انْطَلِقْ ، انْطَلِقْ ، فَأَتَيْنَا عَلَى رَجُلٍ مُضْطَجِعٍ وَإِذَا آخَرُ قَائِمٌ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ بِصَخْرَةٍ ، وَإِذَا هُوَ يَهْوِي بِالصَّخْرَةِ فَيَبْلُغُ رَأْسَهُ ، فَيُدَهْدِهُ الْحَجَرَ هَاهُنَا ، فَيَتْبَعُهُ ، فَيَأْخُذُهُ ، فِيمَا يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ رَأْسُهُ كَمَا كَانَ ، ثُمَّ يَعُودُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَيَفْعَلُ بِهِ كَمَا فَعَلَ الْمَرَّةَ الأُولَى " ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ ، وَقَالَ : قَالا : " أَمَا إِنَّا سَنُخْبِرُكَ ، أَمَّا الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي أَتَيْتَ عَلَيْهِ يُثْلَغُ رَأْسُهُ ؛ فَإِنَّهُ رَجُلٌ يَأْخُذُ الْقُرْآنَ فَيَرْفُضُهُ وَيَنَامُ عَنِ الصَّلاةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ " وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to ask his noble companions after the morning prayer: "Has anyone among you seen a dream?" So whoever had seen a dream would, by Allah’s will, relate it (and the Prophet, peace be upon him, would interpret it). One morning, the Prophet (peace be upon him) told us: "Last night, two (angels) came to me (in a dream), woke me up, and said to me, 'Let us go, let us go.' So we came to a man who was lying down, and another man was standing over his head with a very large stone. Suddenly, he struck the man’s head with the stone, smashing it, and the stone rolled away. He went after the stone, picked it up, and by the time he returned, the man’s head was restored as it was before. Then he struck him again as he had done before." Then the complete hadith was narrated. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Those two (angels) said, 'We will soon inform you of the reality of what you have seen. As for the man whose head was being crushed, he is the one who learned the Qur’an and then neglected it, and used to sleep through the obligatory prayer out of heedlessness.'" Then the rest of the complete hadith was narrated.
