(357) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الْخَبَرِ الْمُفَسَّرِ لِلَّفْظَةِ الْمُجْمَلَةِ الَّتِي ذَكَرْتُهَا،357 Chapter: Mentioning the Detailed Report Explaining the General Statement Previously Mentioned.
Hadith 919

وَالدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ زَجْرَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ تَغْطِيَةِ الْفَمِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فِي غَيْرِ التَّثَاؤُبِ، إِذِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَمَرَ بِتَغْطِيَةِ الْفَمِ عِنْدَ التَّثَاؤُبِ .
And the evidence that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade covering the mouth in prayer except in the case of yawning, is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded covering the mouth when yawning.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي الدَّرَاوَرْدِيَّ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا تَثَاءَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَسُدَّ بِيَدِهِ فَاهُ ؛ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَدْخُلُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When any one of you yawns, he should cover his mouth with his hand, because (if the mouth is open) Satan enters."
