(68) بَابُ دَلْكِ الْيَدِ بِالْأَرْضِ وَغَسْلِهِمَا بَعْدَ الْفَرَاغِ مِنَ الِاسْتِنْجَاءِ بِالْمَاءِChapter 68: Rubbing and washing the hands with earth after cleaning with water
Hadith 89
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَجَلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " دَخَلَ الْغَيْضَةَ فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ ، فَأَتَاهُ جَرِيرٌ بِإِدَاوَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَاسْتَنْجَى بِهَا ، قَالَ : وَمَسَحَ يَدَهُ بِالتُّرَابِ "
Hazrat Ibrahim bin Jarir narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) entered a thicket and relieved himself. Then Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) brought a vessel of water to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) performed istinja with the water. He says that the Prophet (peace be upon him) also rubbed his hand with soil.
