Hadith 888
نَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، نَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، وَأَبُو عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، وَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَسْجِدَ قُبَا ، وَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ رِجَالٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَسَأَلْتُ صُهَيْبًا : كَيْفَ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كَانَ يُسَلَّمُ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي ؟ قَالَ : " كَانَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : هَذَا حَدِيثُ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، زَادَ عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : قُلْتُ لِزَيْدٍ : سَمِعْتَ هَذَا مِنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered the mosque of Quba, and some Ansari companions came to greet him. I asked Hazrat Suhaib how the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to reply to greetings while in the state of prayer. He said that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to reply with a gesture of his hand. Sufyan says: I asked Zaid bin Aslam, did he hear this narration from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)? He said, yes (he heard it).
