Hadith 816

وَإِبَاحَةِ قِتَالِهِ بِالْيَدِ إِنْ أَبَى الْمَارُّ الِامْتِنَاعَ مِنَ الْمُرُورِ، بِذِكْرِ خَبَرٍ مُجْمَلٍ غَيْرِ مُفَسَّرٍ
And if the passerby does not stop despite being prevented, then it is permissible to fight him with the hand. In this regard, a concise, unexplained narration is mentioned.
نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، نَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيَّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ يُصَلِّي ، فَلا يَدَعَنَّ أَحَدًا يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَإِنْ أَبَى فَلْيُقَاتِلْهُ ، فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْطَانٌ "
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you is performing prayer, he should not allow anyone to pass in front of him. If the person refuses (to stop and insists on passing), then he should fight him, for he is a devil."
