(265) بَابُ نَفْيِ قَبُولِ صَلَاةِ الْحُرَّةِ الْمُدْرِكَةِ بِغَيْرِ خِمَارٍ265 Chapter: Denial of Acceptance of the Prayer of a Mature Free Woman without a Head Cover.
Hadith 775
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، وَالْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلاةَ امْرَأَةٍ قَدْ حَاضَتْ إِلا بِخِمَارٍ " . حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، نا يَحْيَى ، نا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمِّي ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : لا يَنْبَغِي لامْرَأَةٍ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ هُوَ الْخَرَّاطُ
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah does not accept the prayer of an adult woman without a head covering." In the narration of Janab Bandar, these words are present: "It is not appropriate for any woman to perform prayer... (i.e., without a head covering)." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that by Humaid bin Abdullah is meant al-Kharrat.
