(261) بَابُ اشْتِمَالِ الْمُبَاحِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ261 Chapter: Permissible Wrapping in Prayer.
Hadith 770

وَهُوَ عَقْدُ طَرَفَيِ الثَّوْبِ عَلَى الْعَاتِقِ، إِذَا كَانَ الثَّوْبُ وَاسِعًا يُمْكِنُ عَقْدُ طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى الْعَاتِقَيْنِ فَيَسْتُرُ الْعَوْرَةَ، بِذِكْرِ خَبَرٍ مُخْتَصَرٍ غَيْرِ مُتَقَصٍّ.
And it is tying the two ends of the garment over the shoulder, when the garment is wide enough that its two ends can be tied over the two shoulders, thus covering the ‘awrah, by mentioning a brief report without elaboration.
نا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ الْعَطَّارُ ، نا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فِي ثَوْبٍ مُشْتَمِلا بِهِ "
Sayyiduna Umar bin Abi Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed wrapped in a cloth in the house of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her).
