حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " كُنْتُ فِي سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الصُّفَّةِ ، مَا مِنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ رِدَاءٌ ، إِمَّا بُرْدَةٌ أَوْ كِسَاءٌ قَدْ رَبَطُوهَا فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ ، فَمِنْهَا مَا يَبْلُغُ السَّاقَ ، وَمِنْهَا مَا يَبْلُغُ الْكَعْبَيْنِ فَيَجْمَعُهُ بِيَدِهِ كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ تُرَى عَوْرَتُهُ " . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : أَبُو حَازِمٍ مَدَنِيٌّ اسْمُهُ سَلَمَةُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ الَّذِي رَوَى ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، وَالَّذِي رَوَى عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ سَلْمَانُ الأَشْجَعِيُّ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I was one of the seventy people of Ahl al-Suffah. None of them had a (garment covering the upper part of the body), or they had a striped sheet or a blanket, etc., which they would tie around their necks. Some of them would reach up to the shins and some up to the ankles, so they would gather it with their hands, fearing that their private parts might become exposed. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the name of Abu Hazim Madani, who narrates from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), is Salamah bin Dinar. And the name of Abu Hazim, who narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), is Salman Ashja’i.
