(256) بَابُ عَقْدِ الْإِزَارِ عَلَى الْعَاتِقَيْنِ إِذَا صَلَّى الْمُصَلِّي فِي إِزَارٍ وَاحِدٍ ضَيِّقٍ256 Chapter: Tying the Wrapper over Both Shoulders when Praying in a Tight Single Wrapper.
Hadith 763
نا أَبُو قُدَامَةَ ، نا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رِجَالٌ يُصَلُّونَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَاقِدِينَ أُزُرَهُمْ عَلَى أَعْنَاقِهِمْ كَهَيْئَةِ الصِّبْيَانِ ، فَيُقَالُ لِلنِّسَاءِ : لا تَرْفَعْنَ رُءُوسَكُنَّ حَتَّى يَسْتَوِيَ الرِّجَالُ جُلُوسًا " . نا بِنَحْوِهِ سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ ، نا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، وَزَادَ قَالَ : مِنْ ضِيقِ الأُزُرِ
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the companions used to pray with the Prophet (peace be upon him) with their lower garments tied around their necks like children. So it was said to the women: Do not raise your heads (from prostration) until the men sit up straight. In the narration of Janab Salm bin Junadah, there is an addition: “Because the lower garments were tight and short (the women were instructed not to raise their heads quickly).”
