It is narrated from Hazrat ‘Abdah bin Abi Lubabah, he says that I heard from Waraad, the scribe of Sayyiduna Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that Sayyiduna Mu‘awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter to Sayyiduna Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) asking him to mention an issue which he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So he replied that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) completed the prayer (he would recite this supplication) . . . . In the narration of ‘Abdul Malik, he says that I heard Waraad narrating, while Asbat and Sufyan narrate from Waraad that it is narrated from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu‘bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this supplication after the prayer, « لا إلهَ إلاّ اللّهُ وحدَهُ لا شريكَ لهُ لهُ المُـلْكُ ولهُ الحَمْد وهوَ على كلّ شَيءٍ قَدير اللّهُـمَّ لا مانِعَ لِما أَعْطَـيْت وَلا مُعْطِـيَ لِما مَنَـعْت وَلا يَنْفَـعُ ذا الجَـدِّ مِنْـكَ الجَـد » “There is no true deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, all sovereignty and all praise belong to Him, and He has full power over everything. O Allah, none can withhold what You give, and none can give what You withhold, and the wealth of the wealthy will not benefit them against You.” In the narration of ‘Abdur Rahman, these words are mentioned: “Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu‘bah (may Allah be pleased with him) dictated these words to me, so I wrote and sent them to Sayyiduna Mu‘awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this after every obligatory prayer.” In the narration of Abu Hashim, the words are as follows: Sayyiduna Mu‘awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter to Sayyiduna Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) asking him to write and send something which he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so Sayyiduna Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote in reply, “Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recite this supplication after completing the prayer, « لا إلهَ إلاّ اللّهُ وحدَهُ لا شريكَ لهُ لهُ المُـلْكُ ولهُ الحَمْد وهوَ على كلّ شَيءٍ قَدير » ‘There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, all sovereignty and all praise belong to Him, and He has full power over everything.’” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite these words three times. It is said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade idle talk, excessive questioning, wasting wealth, miserliness and greed, disobedience to mothers, and burying daughters alive.
