(197) بَابُ طُولِ السَّجْدَةِ وَالتَّسْوِيَةِ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَبَيْنَ الْقِيَامِ بَعْدَ رَفْعِ الرَّأْسِ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ.Chapter 197: Lengthening the prostration and making it equal to bowing and standing after bowing
Hadith 661
نا عُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ قِيَامُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَرُكُوعُهُ ، وَسُجُودُهُ ، وَجُلُوسُهُ ، لا يُدْرَى أَيَّهُ أَفْضَلُ " . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : يُرِيدُ أَفْضَلَ : أَطْوَلُ
Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that it could not be determined which of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) standing, bowing, prostration, or sitting was longer. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that by “afdal” (best) is meant “atwal” (the longest).
