Hadith 635

نا الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، نا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، مِثْلَهُ ، إِلا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " أَوْ يَكُفَّ ثِيَابَهُ أَوْ شَعْرَهُ " ، وَكَانَ ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ يُمِرُّ يَدَهُ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ وَأَنْفِهِ ، يَقُولُ : هُوَ وَاحِدٌ
The Imam narrated, through his esteemed teacher Makhzumi’s chain, a narration from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) similar to the one mentioned above, but he reported these words: “or that you (ﷺ) gather your clothes or hair (this has been prohibited).” Hazrat Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him) used to pass his hand over his forehead and nose and say that this is one and the same limb.
