Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head from the bowing (ruku) of the last (rak‘ah), he supplicated: « اللَّهُمَّ أَنْجِ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ، وَسَلَمَةَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ، وَعَيَّاشَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ، وَالْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ بِمَكَّةَ » "O Allah, grant deliverance to Abu Walid bin Al-Walid, Salamah bin Hisham, ‘Ayyash bin Abi Rabi‘ah, and the helpless and weak ones (present) in Makkah Al-Mukarramah." Ahmad has narrated this addition in his narration: « اللَّهُمَّ اشْدُدْ وَطْأَتَكَ عَلَى مُضَرَ، وَاجْعَلْهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سِنِينَ كَسِنِي يُوسُفَ » "From among the Muslims, (send down Your severe punishment upon the weak ones of Mudar and impose upon them a famine like the famine during the time of Yusuf, peace be upon him." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I have mentioned this entire chapter in the Book of Salah of Al-Kabir.
