Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) once went to the graveyard and greeted the people buried there. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Peace be upon you, O dwellers of the homes of the believing people, and indeed, if Allah wills, we shall also join you. My desire and longing is that we see our brothers.” The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, “O Messenger of Allah, are we not your brothers?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “You are my Companions; my brothers are those who have not yet come (into the world), and I will be at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar before you.” The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, “O Messenger of Allah, how will you recognize those members of your Ummah who have not yet come (into the world)?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “What do you think, if a man has horses with white foreheads and shining feet among black horses, will he not recognize his own horses?” The Companions replied, “Why not, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he will surely recognize them.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, when they come, their faces and hands and feet will be shining due to the effects of ablution, and I will be their forerunner at the Hawd of Kawthar. Beware, some people will be driven away from my Hawd just as a stray camel is driven away. I will call them, ‘Come!’ but it will be said, ‘They introduced new things (innovations) in the religion after you.’ So I will say, ‘Be off, be off (from the mercy of Allah).’” These are the words of the narration of Ibn ‘Ulayyah.
