(152) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الْبَيَانِ أَنَّ التَّطْبِيقَ غَيْرُ جَائِزٍ بَعْدَ أَمْرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِوَضْعِ الْيَدَيْنِ عَلَى الرُّكْبَتَيْنِ،Chapter 152: Clarification that clasping the hands is not allowed after the Prophet ordered placing them on the knees
Hadith 596
نا سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ ، نا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ وَهُوَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، نا وَكِيعٌ ، وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : " كُنْتُ إِذَا رَكَعْتُ وَضَعْتُ يَدَيَّ بَيْنَ رُكْبَتَيَّ ، فَرَآنِي أَبِي سَعْدٌ ، فَنَهَانِي ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّا كُنَّا نَفْعَلُهُ ، ثُمَّ نُهِينَا ، ثُمَّ أُمِرْنَا أَنْ نَرْفَعَهُمَا إِلَى الرُّكَبِ "
Hazrat Mus'ab bin Sa'd narrates that when I used to perform ruku', I would place both my hands between my knees. My respected father, Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), saw me doing this and forbade me, and said: Indeed, we used to do the same, then we were forbidden from it, then we were commanded to raise them towards our knees (i.e., to place them on the knees).
