Hadith 563

Hazrat Muhammad bin Zaid bin Khunais narrates that Hasan bin Muhammad bin Ubaidullah bin Abi Yazid led us in prayer in Masjid al-Haram during the month of Ramadan. When he recited a verse of prostration, he would perform sajdah and prolong the prostration. He was asked about this, and he replied, Ibn Jurayj narrated to me that his grandfather, Ubaidullah bin Abi Yazid, narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both). Then he mentioned a similar narration. And he said, « واحطط عني بها وزرا » "(O Allah) forgive my sins in exchange for this prostration," and these words were not narrated: "Accept from me as You accepted from Your servant Dawud." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I narrated from Abu'l-Aliyah from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to recite this supplication in the prostration of the Qur'an at night « سَجَدَ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِيْ خَلَقَهُ وَشَقَّ سَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ بِحَوْلِهِ وَقُوَّتِهِ » "My face has prostrated to the One Who created it and fashioned its hearing and sight with His perfect power and strength." I omitted its dictation because there is a specific person between Khalid al-Khadda and Abu'l-Aliyah, whom Abdulwahhab bin Abdulmajid and Khalid bin Abdullah al-Wasiti have omitted. (Therefore, its chain is disconnected.)
