(97) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ [عَلَى أَنَّ] الْخِدَاجَ الَّذِي أَعْلَمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ هُوَ النَّقْصُ الَّذِي لَا تُجْزِئُ الصَّلَاةُ مَعَهُ،Chapter 97: Evidence that the deficiency mentioned by the Prophet is a shortcoming that invalidates the prayer
Hadith 490
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، نا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، نا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا تُجْزِئُ صَلاةٌ لا يَقْرَأُ فِيهَا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ " ، قُلْتُ : فَإِنْ كُنْتُ خَلْفَ الإِمَامِ ، فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي ، وَقَالَ : " اقْرَأْ بِهَا فِي نَفْسِكَ يَا فَارِسِيُّ "
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Any prayer in which Surah Al-Fatihah is not recited is not sufficient." (Abdur Rahman) says: I asked, "If I am praying behind the Imam?" So he (the Prophet) took my hand and said, "O Persian, (at that time) recite it in your heart."
