(2) بَابُ ذِكْرِ فَرْضِ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ مِنْ عَدَدِ الرَّكْعَةِ بِلَفْظِ خَبَرٍ مُجْمَلٍ غَيْرِ مُفَسَّرٍ، بِلَفْظٍ عَامٍّ مُرَادُهُ خَاصٌّChapter 2: On the obligation of the five daily prayers by a general report, with a general wording but a specific meaning
Hadith 304
نا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الأَخْنَسِ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " فَرَضَ اللَّهُ الصَّلاةَ عَلَى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فِي الْحَضَرِ أَرْبَعًا ، وَفِي السَّفَرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَفِي الْخَوْفِ رَكْعَةً "
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Allah Almighty has, through the tongue of your Prophet (peace be upon him), made obligatory four rak‘ahs of prayer in residence, two rak‘ahs in travel, and one rak‘ah in fear.
