(397) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الْبَيَانِ أَنَّ بَعْضَ الْحِجْرِ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ، لَا جَمِيعَهُClarification that only part of the Hijr is from the Kaaba, not all of it.
Hadith 3023
حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْجَزَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ بَكْرٍ يَعْنِي مُحَمَّدًا ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، وَالْوَلِيدَ بْنَ عَطَاءٍ , عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ : وَفَدَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَلَى عَبْدِ الْمَلَكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ فِي خِلافَتِهِ ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ : مَا أَظُنُّ أَبَا خُبَيْبٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ سَمِعَ مِنْ عَائِشَةَ مَا كَانَ يَذْكُرُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنْهَا ، قَالَ الْحَارِثُ : بَلَى ، أَنَا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهَا ، قَالَ سَمِعْتَهَا تَقُولُ : مَاذَا قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ قَوْمَكِ اسْتَقْصَرُوا مِنْ بُنْيَانِ الْبَيْتِ ، وَإِنِّي لَوْلا حَدَاثَةُ عَهْدِهِمْ بِالشِّرْكِ أَعَدْتُ مَا تَرَكُوا مِنْهُ ، فَإِنْ بَدَا لِقَوْمُكِ مِنْ بَعْدِي أَنْ يَبْنُوهُ فَهَلُمِّي فَلأُرِيكِ مَا تَرَكُوا مِنْهُ ، فَأَرَاهَا قَرِيبًا مِنْ سَبْعَةَ أَذْرُعٍ " ، هَذَا حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ
Abdullah bin Ubaid bin Umair narrates that during the reign of Abdul Malik bin Marwan, he appeared before Harith bin Abdullah as a messenger. Abdul Malik said, "I do not think that Abu Khubaib Abdullah bin Zubair heard that hadith from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) which he claims to have heard." Harith said, "Why not? I too have heard that hadith from our mother." He asked, "What did you hear Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) say?" He replied, "Our mother said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Indeed, your people have reduced the foundations of the House (the Ka'bah) (because they had run out of lawful wealth to spend), and if these people had not just recently left polytheism and become Muslims, I would have rebuilt the part they left out. Therefore, if after me your people intend to include that part into the foundations of the Sacred House, then come, I will show you the place which they excluded from the House.' So he showed our mother approximately seven handspans of space." This narration is from Abdullah bin Ubaid. He narrated the complete story.
