Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a strong and robust high-breed camel to Makkah Mukarramah for sacrifice. Then he was offered three hundred dinars for it. So he presented himself before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have sent a strong high-breed camel to Makkah Mukarramah for sacrifice, and now I am being offered its price, one hundred dinars. Should I sell it and buy several camels with its price and sacrifice them?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "No, sacrifice that very excellent camel." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the students of Muhammad bin Salamah have differed regarding the name of Ibn Jarood. Some mention his name as Jahm bin Jarood and some as Shahm.
