Hadith 2847

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from Arafat, he seated him behind himself on his mount that evening. Then, when they came near the valley, the Prophet dismounted and urinated, and he did not say that he poured water (rather, he used explicit words that he urinated). Then I poured water for him from a vessel, and he performed a light ablution. We said, "Do you wish to pray?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "We will pray ahead (in Muzdalifah)." Then, when we reached Muzdalifah, the Prophet performed the Maghrib prayer, then the noble Companions unloaded the saddles from their mounts and untied the animals, and I helped the Prophet in untying his mount and removing its saddle. Then the Prophet performed the Isha prayer. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that, to my knowledge, only Ibn ‘Uyaynah has mentioned Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) between Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) and Kuraib in this chain. Yahya bin Sa‘id al-Ansari has not mentioned Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) in his chain. I have mentioned all the routes of this hadith in Kitab al-Kabir.
