(258) بَابُ وَقْتِ الدَّفْعَةِ مِنْ عَرَفَةَ خِلَافَ سُنَّةِ أَهْلِ الْكُفْرِ وَالْأَوْثَانِ كَانَتْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ.Chapter: Time of departure from ‘Arafah, contrary to the practice of the pagans in pre-Islamic times
Hadith 2837
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : " وَقَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَةَ ، ثُمَّ أَفَاضَ حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، وَأَرْدَفَ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ " ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ : أخَبَرُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ مِنْ هَذَا الْبَابِ أَيْضًا
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed at Arafat, then after sunset he returned (to Muzdalifah). He had Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with them both) riding behind him. Muhammad bin Ishaq narrates that the narration of Ja'far bin Muhammad from his father from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) is also related to this chapter.
