Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) says that we were in Arafat with Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), so he said to me, "O Saeed, what is the reason that I do not hear the voices of people reciting Talbiyah?" I replied, "They are afraid of Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him)." Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) then came out of his tent and began to say « لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ » "O Allah, I am present, O Allah, I am present in Your court." These people have abandoned the Sunnah of reciting Talbiyah due to enmity with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the Ahadith of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he continued to recite Talbiyah until he stoned Jamrah Aqabah are proof that he used to recite Talbiyah in the plain of Arafat.
