Hazrat Ja'far bin Muhammad narrates from his father that he said: We presented ourselves before Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), then he narrated the complete hadith and said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reached Arafat (without stopping at Muzdalifah and the valley of Arafah, etc.), and when the sun had declined, he ordered that a saddle be placed on his she-camel Qaswa, so it was saddled. Then he mounted it and came to the middle of the valley of Arafat and addressed the people. He said: "Indeed, your blood and your wealth are sacred to you just as the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this city of yours. Beware! All actions of the days of ignorance are abolished. I forgive first the blood of Ibn Rabi'ah bin Harith from among my killed ones; he was being suckled among Banu Sa'd when the people of the tribe of Hudhail killed him. All usury of the days of ignorance is also abolished, and the first usury I abolish is that of my uncle, Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), which is owed by people. Fear Allah regarding women, for you have taken them as a trust from Allah, and have made their private parts lawful for yourselves by the word of Allah. Your right over them is that they do not allow anyone you dislike to sit on your bed; if they do so, you may lightly punish them. Their right over you is that you provide them with food and clothing according to custom. And indeed, I am leaving among you something, that as long as you hold fast to it, you will never go astray. That is the Book of Allah, the Noble Qur'an. And (on the Day of Judgment) you will be asked about me, so what will you say?" The Companions said: We bear witness that you have conveyed all the messages of your Lord, and have fulfilled the right of advising your Ummah, and have fulfilled your responsibility in the best manner. Then he raised his forefinger towards the sky and pointed it towards the people and said: "O Allah, bear witness. O Allah, bear witness." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I have clarified in the Book of Nikah that the meaning of your statement "do not allow anyone you dislike to sit on your bed" is that they should not let anyone you dislike tread upon your bed with their feet, nor allow anyone to sit on it whom you dislike. As the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not sit in a person's special seat without his permission." A man's bed is also his special seat. The meaning of your statement is not that they should not commit adultery with someone you dislike, as some ignorant people have misunderstood.
