(206) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ [عَلَى] أَنَّ اللَّهَ- عَزَّ وَجَلَّ- إِنَّمَا أَعْلَمَ أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي الطَّوَافِ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِChapter: Evidence that Allah informed the Prophet’s companions that there is no blame in performing sa‘i between Safa and Marwa
Hadith 2768
ثنا بِخَبَرِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَتِ الأَنْصَارُ يَكْرَهُونَ أَنْ يَطَّوَّفُوا بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ : إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ سورة البقرة آية 158 ، زَادَ سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ : فَطَافُوا
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Ansari Companions disliked performing Sa’i between Safa and Marwah until this verse was revealed: « إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ » [ سورة البقرة : 158 ] "Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah." In the narration of Janab Salm bin Junadah, there is this addition: then they began to perform Sa’i.
