Hazrat Abdullah bin Rabah narrates that during the blessed month of Ramadan, some delegates set out to present themselves before Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him); I and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) were with them. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated a lengthy hadith about the conquest of Makkah. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O group of Ansar, shall I not tell you one of your own stories?" Then he described the events of the conquest of Makkah. And he said that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) arrived, he entered Makkah Mukarramah. Then he narrated the complete hadith. And he narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the Black Stone and touched it, and performed the circumambulation (tawaf) of the Sacred House; in his hand was a bow, and he was holding its curved end. During his circumambulation, he came to an idol which the polytheists used to worship. It was beside the House of Allah. He began to strike its eyes with the bow and said: "Truth has come and falsehood has vanished." Then he came towards the hill of Safa and ascended so high that the House of Allah became visible from there; he raised his hands and began to mention Allah, mentioning whatever Allah willed, and supplicated to Him. The Ansari Companions were below him, then he narrated the rest of the hadith. In the chain of narration from Rabi’ bin Sulayman, these words are reported: "So he raised his hands and praised and glorified Allah, and supplicated to Allah according to what Allah willed."
