(164) بَابُ تَقْبِيلِ الْحَجَرِ الْأَسْوَدِ إِذَا تَمَّ تَقْبِيلُهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ إِيذَاءِ الْمُسْلِمِChapter: Kissing the Black Stone if possible without harming others
Hadith 2711
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ بنُ يَزِيدَ ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ ، حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ : قَبَّلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ الْحَجَرَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَمَا وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّكَ حَجَرٌ ، وَلَوْلا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَبِّلُكَ مَا قَبَّلْتُكَ " ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو : وَحَدَّثَنِي بِمِثْلِهَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَسْلَمَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) kissed the Black Stone and then said: "Be aware! By Allah, I know well that you are only a stone (which has no power to benefit or harm), and if I had not seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you." Janab Amr says that Zaid bin Aslam narrated this hadith to me from his noble father Aslam in the same manner.
