(163) بَابُ اسْتِلَامِ الْحَجَرِ الْأَسْوَدِ عِنْدَ ابْتِدَاءِ الطَّوَافِChapter: Touching the Black Stone at the start of tawaf
Hadith 2709
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قَالَ : أَتَيْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْ حَجَّةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " فَخَرَجْنَا لا نَنْوِي إِلا الْحَجَّ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا الْكَعْبَةَ ، فَاسْتَلَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحَجَرَ الأَسْوَدَ ، ثُمَّ رَمَلَ ثَلاثًا ، وَمَشَى أَرْبَعًا "
Junaid Ja'far narrates from his father, who says that we presented ourselves before Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them), and we asked him about the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He said, "We set out (from Madinah Munawwarah) with the intention of only performing Hajj, until we reached the Sacred Ka'bah. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) touched the Black Stone, then performed ramal (brisk walking) in three circuits (of tawaf), and completed four circuits at a normal pace."
