(162) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ السُّنَّةَ قَدْ كَانَ يَسُنُّهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعِلَّةٍ حَادِثَةٍ فَتَزُولُ الْعِلَّةُChapter: Evidence that the Prophet instituted certain practices for specific reasons that later ceased
Hadith 2708
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، يَقُولُ : " فِيمَ الرَّمَلانُ الآنَ ، وَالْكَشْفُ عَنِ الْمَنَاكِبِ ، وَقَدْ أَطَّأَ اللَّهُ الإِسْلامَ ، وَنَفي الْكُفْرَ وَأَهْلَهُ ، وَمَعَ ذَلِكَ لا نَتْرُكُ شَيْئًا كُنَّا نَصْنَعُهُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "
Hazrat Zaid bin Aslam narrates from his esteemed father that he said: I heard Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: "Now, for what reason is there to perform ramal (walking briskly with shoulders uncovered) and to uncover the shoulders, when Allah Almighty has granted strength and power to Islam, and it has spread all around, and disbelief and disbelievers have been eradicated? However, even then, we will not abandon any such act which we used to do with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
