(154) بَابُ قَطْعِ التَّلْبِيَةِ فِي الْحَجِّ عِنْدَ دُخُولِ الْحَرَمِ إِلَى الْفَرَاغِ مِنَ السَّعْيِ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ.Chapter: Stopping the talbiyah in Hajj upon entering the sanctuary until finishing sa‘i between Safa and Marwa
Hadith 2696
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو صَخْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ قُسَيْطٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : حَجَجْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ بَيْنَ حَجَّةٍ وَعُمْرَةٍ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لَهُ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ مِنْكَ أَرْبَعَ خِصَالٍ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، وَقَالَ : رَأَيْتُكَ إِذَا أَهْلَلْتَ ، فَدَخَلْتَ الْعَرْشَ قَطَعْتَ التَّلْبِيَةَ ، قَالَ : صَدَقْتَ يَا ابْنَ حُنَيْنٍ , خَرَجْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ الْعَرْشَ قَطَعَ التَّلْبِيَةَ ، فَلا تَزَالُ تَلْبِيَتِي حَتَّى أَمُوتَ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : قَدْ كُنْتُ أَرَى لِلْمُعْتَمِرِ التَّلْبِيَةَ حَتَّى يَسْتَلِمَ الْحَجَرَ أَوَّلَ مَا يَبْتَدِئُ الطَّوَافَ لِعُمْرَتِهِ لِخَبَرِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُمْسِكُ عَنِ التَّلْبِيَةِ فِي الْعُمْرَةِ إِذَا اسْتَلَمَ الْحَجَرَ " .
Ubaid bin Haneen narrates that I performed about twelve Hajj and Umrah with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them). I said to him, "O Abu Abdur Rahman, I have noted four special things from you." Then he narrated the complete hadith and stated: I have seen that when you enter into Ihram and recite the Talbiyah, you stop reciting the Talbiyah upon reaching the populated area of Makkah Mukarramah. He replied, "O Ibn Haneen, you have spoken the truth. I set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) (for Hajj), and when he entered the populated area of Makkah Mukarramah, he stopped reciting the Talbiyah. Therefore, I will continue to recite the Talbiyah in this manner for the rest of my life." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says: My position was that a person performing Umrah will continue to recite the Talbiyah until he starts Tawaf and touches or kisses the Black Stone, because in the narration of Ibn Abi Layla from Ata from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would stop reciting the Talbiyah in Umrah after touching the Black Stone.
