Hadith 2671
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أَرَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ يَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَلَمَّا كُنَّا بِالْجِعْرَانَةِ أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ مُقَطَّعَاتٌ مُتَضَمِّخٌ بِخَلُوقٍ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي أَهْلَلْتُ بِالْعُمْرَةِ ، وَعَلَيَّ هَذَا فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَيْفَ كُنْتَ تَصْنَعُ فِي حَجَّتِكَ ؟ قَالَ : أَنْزِعُ هَذِهِ الثِّيَابَ وَأَغْسِلُهُ ، قَالَ : " فَاصْنَعْ فِي عُمْرَتِكَ كَمَا تَصْنَعُ فِي حَجَّتِكَ " ، قَالَ : وَأُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ فَسُجِّيَ بِثَوْبٍ ، فَدَعَانِي عُمَرُ : فَكَشَفَ لِي عَنِ الثَّوْبِ ، فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَغِطُّ مُحْمَرًّا وَجْهُهُ ، هَذَا حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، وَقَالَ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ : قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْجِعْرَانَةِ ، وَقَدْ قُلْتُ لِعُمَرَ : وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أَرَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ : وَأَغْسِلُ عَنِّي هَذَا الْخَلُوقَ
Sayyiduna Ya’la bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I wished to see the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at the time when revelation was being sent down upon him. So, once when we were at the place of Ji’ranah, a man wearing a shirt came to the Prophet. His shirt was soaked with saffron fragrance. He said, “I have pronounced the Talbiyah for ‘Umrah and I am wearing this shirt, so what should I do?” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: “What do you do in your Hajj?” He said, “I take off these clothes and wash off the fragrance.” So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Do in your ‘Umrah as you do in your Hajj.” Meanwhile, revelation began to descend upon the Prophet, so he was covered with a sheet. Then Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) called me, removed the cloth, and let me see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he was breathing deeply and his blessed face had become red. This narration is from Abdul Jabbar. In the narration of Makhzawi (may Allah have mercy on him), it is mentioned that we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at Ji’ranah, and I had expressed to Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) my desire to see the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at the time of the descent of revelation.
