(117) بَابُ الرُّخْصَةِ فِي ادِّهَانِ الْمُحْرِمِ بِدُهْنٍ غَيْرِ مُطَيَّبٍChapter: Permission for a person in ihram to use non-perfumed oil
Hadith 2652
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا فَرْقَدٌ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ادَّهَنَ بِزَيْتٍ غَيْرِ مُقَتَّتٍ ، وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ " ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : أَنَا خَائِفٌ أَنْ يَكُونَ فَرْقَدٌ السَّبَخِيُّ وَاهِمًا فِي رَفْعِهِ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ ، فَإِنَّ الثَّوْرِيَّ ، رَوَى عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَدْهِنُ بِالزَّيْتِ حِينَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُحْرِمَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) applied non-fragrant oil while in the state of Ihram. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I fear that Farqad Sabkhi made a mistake in narrating this as a marfu’ (attributing it to the Prophet). Because Imam Sufyan Thawri (may Allah have mercy on him) has narrated from Mansur, from Sa’id bin Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him), that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), when intending to enter Ihram, would apply oil.
