Imam Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that when Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reached Dhu’l-Hulayfah, he would order for the saddle to be fastened on his mount. Then he would perform the morning prayer. Then he would mount his ride, and when it stood straight with him, he would face the Qiblah and recite the Talbiyah. Then he would continue reciting the Talbiyah during the journey until he reached the Haram, at which point he would stop reciting the Talbiyah. When he reached the place of Dhi Tuwa, he would spend the night there, then perform the morning prayer there and take a bath. (Then he would enter the House of Allah.) Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did the same.
