Hadith 257
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، نا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : نا زَائِدَةُ ، نا مُوسَى بْنُ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ ، فَقُلْتُ : أَلا تُحَدِّثِينِي عَنْ مَرِضِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ فَقَالَتْ : بَلَى ، ثَقُلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَصَلَّى النَّاسُ ؟ " فَقُلْنَا : لا ، هُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ! فَقَالَ : " ضَعُوا لِي مَاءً فِي الْمِخْضَبِ " ، قَالَتْ : فَفَعَلْنَا ، فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ لِيَنُوءَ فَأُغْمِيَ عَلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ أَفَاقَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَصَلَّى النَّاسُ ؟ " فَقُلْنَا : لا , هُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : " ضَعُوا لِي مَاءً فِي الْمِخْضَبِ " فَفَعَلْنَا ، قَالَتْ : فَاغْتَسَلَ ، ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ لِيَنُوءَ فَأُغْمِيَ عَلَيْهِ , ثُمَّ أَفَاقَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَصَلَّى النَّاسُ ؟ " فَقُلْنَا : لا , هُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَتْ : وَالنَّاسُ عُكُوفٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، يَنْتَظِرُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِصَلاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الآخِرَةِ . ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ
Sayyiduna Ubaydullah bin Abdullah narrates that I went to the service of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and I asked, "Will you not inform me about the illness of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" She replied, "Why not. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill, so he asked: 'Have the people performed the prayer?' We replied, 'No. O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), they are waiting for you.' So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Place water for me in a tub.' She says, 'So we complied with the order of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).' He (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ghusl (ritual bath), then when he (peace and blessings be upon him) tried to stand up (to go), he (peace and blessings be upon him) fainted. Then when he (peace and blessings be upon him) regained consciousness, he asked: 'Have the people performed the prayer? Place water for me in a tub.' So we complied with the order of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (and placed water), she says, 'He (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ghusl, then when he (peace and blessings be upon him) tried to stand up, he (peace and blessings be upon him) fainted.' Then when he (peace and blessings be upon him) regained consciousness, he asked: 'Have the people performed the prayer?' We replied, 'No, O Messenger of Allah, they are waiting for you.' She (Sayyidah Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her) says, 'And the people were sitting in the mosque waiting for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for the Isha prayer.' Then she narrated the complete hadith."
