Hadith 2543
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، وَرَجَاءُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعُذْرِيُّ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي لاسٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَمَلَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى إِبِلٍ مِنْ إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ خِفَافٍ لِلْحَجِّ ، فَقُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا نَرَى أَنْ تَحْمِلَنَا هَذِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا مِنْ بَعِيرٍ إِلا وَعَلَى ذُرْوَتِهِ شَيْطَانٌ ، فَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ إِذَا رَكِبْتُمُوهَا كَمَا أَمَرَكُمْ ، ثُمَّ امْتَهِنُوهَا لأَنْفُسِكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا يَحْمِلُ اللَّهُ "
Sayyiduna Abu Las Khuza'i رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم made us ride on weak camels from the camels of zakat for the journey of Hajj. So we said, "O Messenger of Allah, we think these camels will not be able to serve us for riding." The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "There is a devil on the hump of every camel, so when you are about to mount them, do so by mentioning the name of Allah (recite Bismillah) according to Allah's command, then make full use of them for your service. Surely, (in reality) it is Allah Almighty who makes one ride (for man does not have the power to subjugate such powerful animals on his own)."
