Hadith 2523
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ , قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا يَحِلُّ لامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً ، إِلا مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ " ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : لَمْ يَقُلْ عِلْمِي أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مَالِكٍ فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ : عَنْ أَبِيهِ خَلا بِشْرِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، هَذَا الْخَبَرُ فِي الْمُوَطَّإِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel for one day and one night without a mahram." Abu Bakr says: To my knowledge, apart from Bishr bin Umar among the companions of Malik, no one else has narrated this hadith with the chain "from Sa'id bin Abi Sa'id from his father." This hadith is mentioned in Muwatta with the chain "from Sa'id from Abu Hurairah."
