Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that a man said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), my mother has passed away suddenly, and I am certain that if (before dying) she could have spoken, she would surely have advised giving charity. If I give charity on her behalf, will she receive the reward?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Yes, she will receive the reward." In the narration of Abu Kuraib, it is mentioned: She did not make a will, but I am certain that if she could have spoken, she would surely have given charity.
