It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the ritual bath (ghusl) after menstruation. Then the narrator mentioned some of the hadith (i.e., the answer to this question), and she said (Sayyidah Asma, may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the ritual bath after sexual impurity (janabah), so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "One of you women should take water and perform ablution, perform ablution well, then pour water over her head and rub it so that the water reaches the roots of her hair. Then she should pour water over her head." Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The best women are the Ansari women; modesty does not prevent them from gaining understanding in religion.
