(145) بَابُ الرُّخْصَةِ فِي الصَّدَقَةِ عَلَى مَنْ يَمُونُهُ مُتَطَوِّعًا145 Subchapter: Permissibility of giving charity to those one voluntarily supports
Hadith 2449
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَتَى بِطَعَامٍ لَيْسَ مَعَهُ لَحْمٌ ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَمْ أَرَ لَكُمْ بُرْمَةً ؟ " ، قُلْتُ : بَلَى ، ذَاكَ لَحْمٌ تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ عَلَيَّ بَرِيرَةُ ، فَقَالَ : " هُوَ لَهَا صَدَقَةٌ ، وَهُوَ مِنْهَا هَدِيَّةٌ "
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me and food was presented to him which did not have any meat with it. So he asked: "Did I not see your pot? (in which meat was being cooked)" I replied that indeed you did see it, but that meat was given as charity to Sayyidah Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is charity for her, and for us it is a gift from Barirah. (So bring it. There is no harm in eating it.)"
