(136) بَابُ فَضْلِ الْمُتَصَدِّقِ عَلَى الْمُتَصَدَّقِ عَلَيْهِ136 Subchapter: The giver of charity is better than the recipient
Hadith 2435
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الْهَجَرِيِّ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْهَجَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " الأَيْدِي الثَّلاثَةُ : يَدُ اللَّهِ الْعُلْيَا ، وَيَدُ الْمُعْطِي الَّتِي تَلِيَهَا ، وَيَدُ السَّائِلِ السُّفْلَى إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ، فَاسْتَعِفَّ عَنِ السُّؤَالِ مَا اسْتَطَعْتَ " ، قَالَ يُوسُفُ : عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، وَقَالَ : الَّتِي تَلِيَهَا ، وَقَالَ : فَاسْتَعِفُّوا عَنِ السُّؤَالِ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ ، هَذَا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ بُنْدَارٍ
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: "There are three types of hands: Allah Almighty’s hand is the highest and most exalted. After that is the hand of the one who gives charity. And the hand of the one who asks will remain below until the Day of Judgment, so avoid asking according to your ability." In the narration of Abu Al-Ahwas, it is mentioned: "Whoever is after that," and he said, "Therefore, avoid asking, avoid it as much as you are able." These are the words of the hadith as narrated by Bundar.
